CD still music king, but losing ground to digital

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. -- Market researchers NPD Groupsaid Tuesday that digital music downloads now make up 35 percent of the U.S. market, up from 30 percent in 2008.

People still buy more CDs, which account for 65 percent of music sales in the U.S., NPD said. The research group predicts digital music sales will nearly equal CD sales by the end of next year.." [continue reading]
